Red-Light Collisions in Ohio
When drivers fail to pay attention to the road, they are at risk of causing serious car accidents. Traffic signals are intended to make the roads safer for everyone, but when reckless motorists fail to obey these devices, they are ineffective at preventing vehicle collisions. In 2017, a total of 939 people were killed nationally in red-light collisions in the United States. Red-light runners are involved in nearly 28% of fatal intersection collisions each year.
Ohio auto accidents can leave victims and their families with significant injuries and other financial damages, and these are often enough to completely disrupt a victim’s life. Big cities throughout the state have busy and congested roadways, which set the scene for a serious or life-threatening collision. These severe and fatal accidents can result in significant damages, including the cost of medical bills, lost income from being unable to return to work, or pain and suffering that lingers long after the crash.
