Green, OH – David Vaughn Killed in Motorcycle Crash on OH-32

Green, OH (July 17, 2020) – A deadly motorcycle accident took the life of one man on Thursday, July 15. The accident occurred in Green Township in Brown County. Reports from the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) indicated that the accident occurred on OH-32 (Appalachian Highway). The incident occurred Thursday afternoon at around 1 p.m. 

According to reports from OSHP, a 54-year-old man from Ripley, Ohio was killed in the collision. The deceased victim was later identified as David Vaughn. Local sources revealed that Vaughn was traveling eastbound on OH-32 on a 1991 Harley Davidson motorcycle at the time of the accident. For unknown reasons, the motorcycle drove off the left side of the highway and proceeded to strike a highway median and then crash into a fence. Initial reports revealed that the bike continued to travel down the embankment before overturning. 

There was a 29-year-old woman riding as a passenger on the motorcycle at the time of the accident. She was ejected from the bike during the crash. She was transported to  Mount Orab Mercy Hospital for the treatment of sustained injuries. It is believed that her injuries were non-life-threatening. 

Neither Vaughen nor his passenger was wearing a helmet at the time of the incident. An ongoing investigation into the crash is being managed by OSHP. More details will be released as the investigation continues.
