Grafton, OH – Gage Carnes Killed in Motorcycle Crash on OH-57

Grafton, OH (July 30, 2020) – A 20-year-old man suffered fatal injuries following a motorcycle accident near Grafton. The accident reportedly occurred late on Sunday evening, July 26. According to reports from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on OH-57 (Grafton Road) south of OH-52. 

Responding emergency personnel pronounced Gage Carnes of Grafton dead at the scene of the collision. At around 7:22 p.m., authorities reported that a 1982 Cadillac Eldorado traveling south on OH-57 was attempting to make a left turn into a driveway. Carnes was reportedly traveling southbound on the highway on a 2013 Suzuki GSX-R1000 motorcycle. Carnes attempted to avoid the Cadillac but struck the left side of the vehicle. 

The 35-year-old driver of the Eldorado was not injured in the crash. Impairment is not believed to have been a factor in the collision. Carnes was reportedly wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

An ongoing investigation into the accident is currently in progress. No further updates are currently available.
