Clermont Co, OH – Officer John Amole Injured in Head-On Crash on OH-132

Clermont Co, OH (December 24, 2020) – An allegedly intoxicated driver crashed head-on into a police vehicle in Clermont County on Tuesday, December 23. 

The incident reportedly occurred on OH-132 near Twelve Mile Road. At around 6:25 p.m. that night, a 1998 Toyota Corolla driven by 54-year-old Kimberly Powers of New Richmond, Ohio was traveling eastbound on the highway when she crossed the centerline while rounding a curve. Powers then collided head-on with a police vehicle driven by 31-year-old John Amole. 

Amole was reportedly responding to a call regarding an impaired motorist driving a vehicle that matched the description of the Toyota. Officer Amolewas transported to Clermont Mercy Hospital for the treatment of sustained injuries. Powers was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in critical condition. 

An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is currently underway.
