Wayne, OH – One Airlifted After Train-Car Crash near US-127

Wayne, OH (August 7, 2020) – One person was seriously injured following an accident involving a train and a motor vehicle in Wayne Township early on Thursday morning, August 6. Deputies from the Butler County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene along with fire rescue units to render aid to those at the scene. The collision took place near the intersection of US-127 and Wayne Milford Road at around 7:10 a.m. 

Initial reports revealed that the incident involved a train from the Norfolk Southern Railroad line. A medical helicopter responded to the scene to airlift an injured occupant in the vehicle, who was transported to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio for treatment. At this time, no updates on the conditions of the injured parties have been provided. 

The factors contributing to the collision have not been reported at this time. Emergency responders were present to assist those injured in the collision. The identity of the injured party has not been provided at this time. 

An ongoing investigation into the crash is being managed by the BCSO, and more details will be released as it continues.
