Colombia, OH – Roy Young Killed in Collision on OH-252
Columbia, OH (October 5, 2020) – A collision in Columbia Township on Saturday afternoon, October 3, resulted in the death of a 22-year-old man.
Initial reports revealed that the collision occurred on OH-252 near Red Wagon Farms at around 1 p.m. According to local reports, 22-year-old Roy Young was traveling northbound in a 2006 Hyundai Tiburon on the highway at the time of the crash. At the same time, a 38-year-old woman was driving a 2000 GMC Sierra pickup truck southbound.
For unknown reasons, Young drove his vehicle off the roadway and over-corrected, striking the GMC truck. Young was taken to Southwest General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the GMC was taken to the same hospital for the treatment of sustained injuries.
The cause of the accident is not currently known. An ongoing investigation into the accident is underway.
