Marion, OH – Zachary Beeney Killed in Deadly Accident on OH-309
Marion, OH (August 19, 2020) – A 22-year-old man from Marion was killed in a fatal car crash on OH-309 (Harding Highway East) on Sunday night, August 16.
The deadly collision reportedly occurred at around 11:10 p.m. that evening. Initial reports revealed that Zachary Beeney was traveling westbound on the highway at the time of the accident. For unknown reasons, Beeney was involved in a head-on collision with a 2008 Mercury Mariner.
The driver of the Mercury was identified as 60-year-old, Aileen Hunt, of Galion, Illinois. Both Beeney and Hunt were transported to Marion General Hospital before being flown by MedFlight to Grant Medical Center. Beeney was pronounced on Monday, August 17, at around 1:37 p.m.
Hunt was reportedly in serious condition. No further updates on the crash are currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is in progress.
