Deadly Pedestrian Accidents in Ohio
While other types of vehicle fatalities are on the decline, pedestrian deaths are rising dramatically across the United States. Statistics show that pedestrians are nearly 1.5 times more likely to be killed in a collision. There is little protecting a pedestrian from the full impact of a crash, and they are more vulnerable to suffering from life-threatening injuries. There were 5,977 pedestrians killed in car crashes nationwide in 2017, an average of one death every 88 minutes.
The preventable death of a loved one can be a shattering and entirely traumatic experience for surviving family members, and no amount of compensation can ever make up for the death of a loved one. Ohio wrongful death suits can be raised from careless acts, including a car crash, resulting in the death of a family member, in order to recover lost compensation for a representative of the deceased. Surviving family members should consult with an Ohio wrongful death lawyer who can help guide them through the process and construct a strong legal claim after the loss of a family member of a deadly accident.
